COAG Reform Council
CRC
2006 – 1 July 2014
Independent council that reported to the Council of Australian Governments on the progress and performance of the Commonwealth, states and territories under COAG's national agreements and reform agenda.
How it came into existence
Established by a decision of the Council of Australian Governments in February 2006 to monitor the National Reform Agenda, as a new body with no predecessor. Its role was expanded in 2008 to reporting on governments' performance under the Intergovernmental Agreement on Federal Financial Relations and its national agreements and partnerships.
How it ended
Ceased on 30 June 2014 following a 2014–15 Budget decision to abolish it; it had no direct successor, and performance reporting on national agreements reverted to governments.
